The world’s second largest coffee exporter today is Vietnam with market share from 0.1% to 20% in just 30 years.

FACTS AND FIGURES (UPDATED 2019):

Cultivated area: 550,000 to 600,000 hectares

Approximately 95% is Robusta, the rest is Arabica and others

Privately cultivated: Approximately 85%

KEY COFFEE AREAS:

Dak Lak (Robusta): 28.3% by area and 27.5% by output

Lam Dong (Robusta and Arabica): 22.7% by area and 24.9% by output

Dak Nong (Robusta): 21.9% by area and 23.3% by output

Gia Lai (Robusta): 12.6% by area and 14.3% by output

MAJOR IMPORT COUNTRIES:

Germany, United States of America, Spain, Italy, Japan, Belgium, Korea, France, United Kingdom and Russian Federation, etc…

MAIN PORTS OF SHIPMENT:

Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Ba Ria Vung Tau.
